Add a rating to the category

He said that he would also like to have a way to add a rating to the category without having to select a comment. (like marking a category as inspected or not inspected) did educate him on not filling out the line or category that it will not show on the report and also adding default ratings to the template.

Pre Select a rating

In Wisconsin, I have to Rate everything.. even if it's fine. I have to use the word Functional.
I would like to be able to select Functional in the template for every line item And have it show up as a Rating ... As in the report would be 100% complete when starting. When something needs to be marked as Needs Repair or Defect, I could change it... this would be a huge time saver in the field.

Select "Inspected/Acceptable" for lines

I like to mark everything that I have inspected. In palmtech complete, it feel like all I am recording is marginal or defective. I also need to add my Inspected/Acceptable.

There absolutely needs to be a check box on the line item (right after the camera?). The only way to leave a rating is to comment? When 90% of the report is acceptable but you can't pick it unless you make a comment.
Ratings need to be separated from the comments.
Basically, copy the older version of the app, as far as the actual inspection goes.
- Ratings need their own check box/drop down. accept. / marginal / defective / Unable.... / N/A
- Make commenting the same as before, box pops up, I can type manually or select comments to input.
- Clicking on comment button, then having this huge list of my comments is not efficient. Most of the time just a quick typing is needed now I have to go to bottom fill in a box, save comment etc.
Not to be rude, but did you guys consult an inspector when developing this software? I would love to help. I feel very strongly the older versions were pretty solid, only a few minor tweaks were needed.
Pic below shows I commented on Roof but doesn't show need to click comment button. Old version had pop up box you could just type in and/or add pre-made comments, easy peasy.

Mike Krajewski there is "No" way a home inspector was consulted for this new phase of Palmtech... A huge part of the problem. I can't fathom why they did not work off previous versions of the software..Very Frustrating..

Yes. Inspected or Acceptable as an option would be great. Just as important, though, I believe that the amount of space this takes up in the final report is lessened to a single or double line and NOT a quarter page. Final Full Reports pushing or exceeding 100 pages appears inefficient even though we have a summary section.

I would like a default rating but i would like it to read "Acceptable" or make it defineable by the user.

We are looking at adding the ability to have a default rating like "Inspected". If your template had a default rating set, then that rating would appear in every line that did not have a rating selected in a comment. How does everyone feel about that?

Will Singer That would be great! Hopefully we can change that rating to fit our descriptions. In WI, I have to use the word Functional if it was inspected and no issues. To have that as a default would be amazing. And it would change if a specific comment with a different rating was selected.
I currently just use a period “.” As the comment for Functional. Only way I could figure that out.

Andy Smitten Can you send us an example report that shows where the excess space is occurring? I know the new reports are longer but if you're saying a line is taking a quarter page, then, maybe something is going wrong in your settings.
W
Will Singer
Jeff Mudlin You'll be able to use Functional for the default or whatever word or term you prefer.

This needs to move to the front of the line!!!!!! The time to complete a report is MORE THAN DOUBLE having to flip back and forth. The new version is PRACTICALLY UNUSABLE. Very un-impressed.

Johnny Red I agree, the older version was pretty damn good, and lets face it we were all use to it. Bring it back or something close!!

Customer would like to have the rating list available without having to go through the comments and not have to add a comment in order for the line to show on the report.
